HOW TO DRAW AND PROTECT YOUR TRAIL

The core challenge in Hexanaut.io is balancing territorial expansion with survival. To control, you move the mouse or use the arrow keys to slide through the arena. Every successful return converts enclosed hexagons into your color, gradually increasing your control over the map. Opponents can eliminate you by cutting your exposed trail, and colliding with your own line also ends your run.

Totems That Change the Map

Speed Totem: Permanently increases movement speed by 5% per capture.
Spreading Totem: Converts surrounding tiles automatically over time.
Spy Dish: Reveals enemy territory and base layouts on your minimap.
Teleport Gate: Returns you deep into your secure territory.
Slowing Totem: Reduces rival movement speed inside its projected area.

CLAIM 20%, THEN DEFEND THE CROWN

Capturing 20% of the map in Hexanaut.io earns you the Hexanaut or King title and a baseline speed boost. Rival positions become visible on your minimap, but your exact location is also revealed to every opponent. The two-minute defense countdown then begins, turning your growing kingdom into a contested battlefield.
